Default You ARE Worthy

“Be who you are and say what you feel,
because those who mind don’t matter,
and those who matter, don’t mind.”
- Dr. Seuss

I have struggled with this one much of my life. I am one of those people who go through life, for whatever reason, making sure everyone else’s life is a happy one.

I have dedicated my life to others, and often put their happiness, their wants and needs, over mine.

There were many times where I did this because I worried about what others would think of me if I didn’t – would they still like me, would they be mad at me, would they think less of me?

With the understanding of a few simple universal laws, I changed the way I thought about what I do. I still do a lot for others, always will – but I do it because I want to, because it is part of who I am, part of my inner beauty.

But I no longer do it at my expense, because I believe we only do something at our own expense if we don’t have the self worth to believe we are more worthy of something than someone else. And that is never the truth.

Self worth, or lack of, is something we have convinced ourselves of. It is a story we have made up in our own mind – and if it is anything less than perfect – it is not true. Yet we hold onto that story and allow it to own our life, make our decisions and drive our life path.

Tell yourself today – you are worthy. Say it out loud – I am worthy. I am as worthy as anyone – as everyone. There is no one in this universe more worthy than me. I exist only to share my worthiness with others and to show them how incredible I am. And as they see that I am incredible – they will know that they are incredible too.

Default Self Worth

It's interesting to me how self worth or the lack of it is so predominant in women today. It is often at the root of our strife in life because if we feel absolute and unconditional love for ourselves then the world must follow.

I can relate to a strong lack of self worth but for me it showed up in my life as excess weight. A lot of it. 245 pounds of it. I started to learn about how to grow my self worth within which sounds easier than it was. I had a lot of old unsupportive beliefs about myself and my life that I needed to get rid of first. Now I'm 105 pounds lighter and have been for 6 years, infinitely happier and connected to my purpose in life.

Once I figured out that I just had to love myself then the rest started to fall into place and it became easier to love everyone and everything around me. I all starts within. Women understand intuitively how to give and often give at their own expense. We feel selfish when we focus on ourselves. We live in a wonderful time when we are all evolving quickly and ready to accept that if we start by taking care of ourselves first then all others around us benefit.
